this month has been buuusssyyy......but very good! I think '08 has taken off on a good note. Been so wrapped up in teaching, officially starting my business, shoot portrait sessions, doing my first wedding of the year, working an Encounter, preparing for Australia.....tons of stuff. This year has been said to be the year of acceleration, and I believe we are putting that into action among the alphanet (the youth ministry that i work under). Truly, this is the area that God has called me into ministry and it can be up and down emotionally and physically---but i do not think there is anything better. Here are a few pictures from our last Encounter (what is that you ask? only a weekend where young people can dive deeper into the freedom of Jesus Christ!)
p.s. sorry for the bad quality, could only get some with my point and shoot b/c I didn't want to distract with lugging around a large camera or using flash!
Thankfully, January ends with my 24th birthday on the 28th! I'm leaving Saturday to celebrate in Savannah with some family---along with some fun things planned---one of which i can't share till i get home---and the other is getting to hang out with my favorite photographer Christine Hall (again!!) <-----so pumped about that...you'll hear and see from me later.
peace.

Campaign For Real Beauty
Friday, January 18, 2008
I wanted to share this before I left for the weekend. My friend Linda showed me these yesterday and she is planning to use them this weekend in her "self-image" talk at our retreat. Of course, this is Dove's "Campaign for Real Beauty" and I love where they are headed with this direction....
The first one is called Evolution Film I realize as photographers photoshop is a very powerful tool, but we need to be careful that we are using it to enhance beauty and not totally change it up.
the second one is powerful as well...I'm very passionate about the fact that women are bombarded with beauty messages on a daily basis--most of them being about keeping your outer woman spic and span while your inner woman can be wasting away...

Weekend...
Thursday, January 17, 2008
I'll be out this weekend working on a retreat at New Hope. Very excited about this one and humbled that the Lord continues to show me His love and faithfulness! I will not have email access this weekend. So, any emails/calls will be returned Monday morning---MLK day----I have the day off from school!
In other news, that's not rain folks....that's SNOW! It snowed here in Augusta last night for a little bit. Then....the rain melted it all away....I so wanted it to stick and stay home today with hot cocoa and scarves....oh well!

FREAKOUT!
Monday, January 7, 2008
Okay, I was told last night by my good friend, fellow australian-traveler, and missions administrative assistant *Natalie Gonzalez* that someone wants to SPONSOR my trip to Australia!
Is that not unbelievable! I'm so ecstatic! Like, God totally blows my mind everytime something like this comes up. When something seems kinda impossible or really hard....He never fails! Really, I'm just completely floored and completely grateful to this person. They are to remain anonymous to me until all the details are finalized. I can't believe it.
Also...fun for today,
As a huge fun of Burger King...that's right, I love them. I love their new advertising campaign. You might've seen this on TV already. It's called "whopper freakout" where they have taped real customers freaking out b/c Burger King decided to discontinue the whopper....check it: whopper freakout
