Labor Day weekend is always somewhat bittersweet. Sweet b/c we have an extra day to the weekend, an extra day to rejuvenate. But, bitter b/c it always signifies the official end of summer :( I LOVE summer. It's always been my favorite season--probably b/c it means time for the beach and spending time on St. Simons, relaxing a little more, getting tan, ect....we spent a great end of summer weekend at my dad and grandparents this past weekend. Tony was able to enjoy being out in the country, we slept in everyday, hung out with my family, ate my granny's famous grilled cheese sandwiches every morning, and grilled out. Aaahh, i love sumer....
On Saturday night, my granny and I drove over to Savannah to Old Fort Jackson. My great aunt paints on the side and was auctioning off some of her work for the Coastal Heritage Society. We wanted to go to support her work and see her and my other great aunt. (okay, I'll admit it..and so I could sneak in some Savannah time)
Here she is proudly displaying her pieces...if anyone would like to commission her for work, just shoot me an email. (bytheway, she'll be 80 next year!sshhh!)
do I really need to explain why I love Savannah so much....
a shot of the Fort
grilling out on Sunday evening
my sister....anyone need Avon?
kiss the cook......okay! (my uncle)
this is how they are typically positioned....love them!
all the animals had a good time too
Hope everyone had a fantastic Labor Day!
p.s. Gulf Coast, I'm praying for you!
Oh, Summer don't leave me....
