A business is expensive!

Thursday, January 22, 2009

Well, you know that 5D I've been renting...long story short, it's mine now!! HALLELUJAH!!! It was my mom's idea to email that company and ask if they'd be willing to sell it, and I got such a good deal! I can't believe I'm really the owner of it. I've waited for so long! Clients, now my images will have an extra boost of prO-fashion-alisM!! (that's professionalism and fashion, yeah I just went with it as I was typing) So, if you want to know what I want for my birthday in a couple of days....you guessed it, MONEY!!

*Lord, thank you for this beautiful piece of equipment. Help me to be a good steward of it and use it for Your glory!!*

I FINALLY HAVE A 5D!!

In Print!!

Saturday, January 10, 2009

A few months ago I was able to do my first corporate shoot for Select Specialty Hospital. I was beyond excited! The shoot was for their 2009 calendar which displays some of their miracle patients from across the country. Augusta was chosen again this year to showcase a miracle story, and I was asked to photograph the patient. It's been one of my dreams to see some of my work in print. And although this is a small start, I hope it means more of this stuff in the future! wwoooo-hoooo!!!

Product Reveal: the 5x5 Session Album

Wednesday, January 7, 2009

Wow! I'm so pleased to finally announce a new product for 2009!! This little gem is so cute, I want 5 of them just for me. But, don't let it's size fool you....she really delivers the punch! The 5x5 session album will now be offered with our Signature Session.

The Signature Session includes everything that our standard session does + this beautiful album with 30 of your favorite finished prints. The album can be totally customized from choices of leathers, fabrics, and silks, as well as the choice of white or black pages. I have tons of options for the cover! The cool thing about this album is that it will only be offered to clients choosing the Signature session. It's more fun to walk away from a session knowing that you've already got this baby in the bag!

I also wanted to note that it's taken me several YEARS to figure out which album company I wanted to work with. Most of them are so overpriced and even cheesy at times. You can be assured that I've chosen what works best with my style of work.

For my sample, I chose the mustard-yellow leather cover...

She's Ready!!

Saturday, January 3, 2009

Finally, all the edits to my new site are complete! She's been undergoing this make-over for sometime now. I kept wondering when the best time to reveal her would be. What better time than the new year?

Introducing......the new, cleaner, fresher Haley Lamb Photography Site

New Website!

You'll see the change in types of portrait session and the fees for portrait sessions are different as well. I'm excited to offer my new Signature Session (more to come later!). Also, to get a full price list as well as new product guide, you'll need to email me on the new business email!

studio@haleylambphoto.com

I really do like the cleaner lines of this new site, but I hope to get one that's way modern sometime in 2009. We'll see. For now, go check out the new face of Haley Lamb Photography. All the galleries are jam-packed with new work!

Receiving Gifts

Friday, January 2, 2009

God bless Dr. Gary Chapman for his book "The 5 Love Languages". Even though it's kinda hard to admit, I believe my love language is "receiving gifts". That's why at Christmas time, even though I realize that the reason for the season is not solely based on gift-giving, it excites me so much! I still feel like a kid ready to run down the stairs at my parents house on Christmas morning anxious to see everything that awaits us! I'm so grateful to receive the things I have gotten this year. I wanted to showcase just a few of the cool gifts I received this Christmas.....

I've wanted these beads for such a long time. They are kinda pricey, but only b/c they are made from Ugandan women and most of the proceeds from the beads goes back to them for their income

and last, but not least...a custom art piece from my great aunt

okay, now stay tuned to the next blog post to see how I love to give back!

New Beginnings

Thursday, January 1, 2009

Wasn't it great to wake up to a new start today? I'm thankful that not only do we have a new year to begin a fresh start, but every single day we wake up to new mercies. We can wipe the slate clean! I'm anticipating 2009 and what all it will hold.

Speaking of new beginnings, my friends Christan and David finalized the adoption of their son Harrison to his dad David this week December 30. It feels so weird to say they are now an "official" family, but I bet it feels real good to have it on paper! I've been so honored to document some of the milestones of the Barnetts lives. Adoption is something that I hope to be able to do someday with Tony, and I would love to donate my services to any family who is undergoing an adoption this year. I think adoption is one of the highest forms of love anyone can bestow. Contact me if you or someone you know will be adopting in 2009 for a free portrait session!

There is a first time for everything

Tuesday, December 30, 2008

On Monday, we decided it was finally time for Lilybelle's first trip to the beach! And, of course, her first trip to the ocean can only be to my favorite one....St.Simons! My sister and her boyfriend, me and tony, and my granny all piled up in her van for a quick day trip to the Double S. We enjoyed Gnat's Landing sweet potato fries, the eco-nook, the village, and ended it out with Lilybelle checking out the beach. I think she loves that place now :) Hopefully she'll get to go again in the summer!

Merry Christmas!

Wednesday, December 24, 2008

Whew! December was a crazy month having to meet all these holiday deadlines! I've learned some lessons about those. I'm really glad for a good break from work over the holidays. I hate that Christmas seems to go by so fast, so I want to savor all these good moments coming up. Of course, I'll be blogging all the fun family stuff, and I'll be doing a "product reveal" on the blog soon to showcase one of my new album offerings! So, stay tuned! I won't be taking a break from the blog :)

And, I just can't say enough how grateful I am to the clients and friends who have trusted me with your memories this year. I believe we can make 2009 even better. Won't you join me? MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Blogchristmas

p.s. went to lateChurch in Savannah with my cousins last sunday night. The message was so encouraging. If you want to check it out, go to http://latechurch.mypodcast.com/. (it's the top podcast titled "Unstoppable: Impact") Pastor Allgire spoke about the Christmas story in a way that was much needed in my life. My favorite part was his insight on the shepherds.
